We live in a world where we are continually bombarded with all kinds of theories, ideas and concepts... some of which seem quite fanciful, and whilst others are plausible their truth and viability have yet to be proved! However, the Bible with its God-given message has been around for thousands of years and found by millions to be true.
We try to make our services as helpful and relevant as possible so we sing songs of worship (some traditional and some contemporary) which not only express our love and gratitude to God but also strengthen our understanding of what he has done for us. There are readings from a modern translation of the Bible (the New International Version) so that we might hear together what God has to say in a particular passage, and prayers are offered both for the needs of our world and of God’s people. The sermon seeks to be faithful to God’s Word and to speak relevantly to our needs and daily life.
West Worthing Evangelical Church is an independent evangelical church affiliated to the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC).
We are a group of people who meet to worship God, encourage one another to live God-honouring lives and share the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ.
We are a church family who:
Meet together to praise and Worship God
Seek to encourage others to live lives in obedience to God’s word, the Bible, in the power of the Holy Spirit
Share the Good News about Jesus Christ in our community, country and around the world.
We would like to welcome you to our church family – Come as you are.
From the Co Team CORONAVIRUS – CHURCH CLOSURE
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic and at the urging of the Government, this Church will be closed until further notice.
We have taken this decision with deep regret but believing that it is a responsible and necessary step to help protect our community in the present situation.
We intend to reopen as soon as possible so please continue to check the website regularly for any information concerning this.
Thank you for your understanding and we trust that you and yours will remain healthy.
An event like this reminds us all of our human frailty and the uncertainty of life. We are thankful that God is still in charge of our world and offers to us all, through Jesus Christ, a relationship with Him that not only sustains us in this life but brings us safely through into the next.
Closing the church was not an easy decision to make to but we do believe it to be the right one that both honours our Lord and demonstrates concern and care for the well-being of both the members and the wider community.
During this unusual time we want to ensure that we support our church members and congregation as much as possible.
We are, therefore, ensuring that everyone receives a weekly printed leaflet containing any news of the Fellowship, prayer items, and a Bible reading with a short meditation.
We would encourage you to read the Bible passage and comment and dig into It at our usual Sunday morning service time so that we might realize this is something we are doing together, while apart!
We also want to encourage our people to phone one another during the week; not only will it give the opportunity to talk but it will help those who may feel particularly lonely and cut off. If there are any urgent pastoral needs please do not hesitate to contact one of us and we will do what we can to help.
We will, of course, reopen as soon as possible but in the meantime we must continue to rest in the Lord and his gracious and sovereign will.
We regret that, due to the current situation with COVID-19, JELLY TOTS is now closed until further notice. Please check here regularly for any news regarding restarting the group. We are sorry for any disruption or inconvenience this action may cause you.
